Poètes et poétesses d'Al Andalus

After the success of the project « Souvenirs d'Al Andalus » created in 2007 (and recorded in 2008 – Ame Son label), Amel and Rachid Brahim-Djelloul propose a new program « Poets and poetesses from Al Andalus ».

It was on Umayyad Caliphate's reign, followed by Abbasids' reign, that Andalusia arabo-muslim (Djaziret al andalûs  711-1492) knew its most famous poets and poetesses : Ibn Al Labbana, Ibn Khafadja, Ibn Zamrak Wallada or Hamda.

To set in music this poetry (the art of Muwashshah and zajel) which is rich and refined, was the goal set by Amel and Rachid Brahim-Djelloul and Amedyez ensemble as new musical project.

In order to reach this purpose, Amel and Rachid Brahim-Djelloul got outstanding musicians on their side : Noureddine Aliane (vocals and Ûd), Dahmane Khalfa (Derbouka, Tar and Bendir) and Yousef Zayed (Bouzuq).

Thus, Amel and Rachid Brahim-Djelloul got outstanding musicians on their side : Noureddine Aliane (vocals and Ûd), Dahmane Khalfa (Derbouka, Tar and Bendir) and Yousef Zayed (Bouzuq).
