The Barber of Seville will multiply this summer thanks to our artists!
Sometimes in Orange, sometimes in Vichy, making a detour to Edinburgh in Scotland!
The renowned conductor and cellist Raphaël Merlin (opposite) is conducting Rossini's masterpiece at Opéra de Vichy on July 27 and 29 with his ensemble Les Forces Majeures. After the success of his album "Rossini", released in 2016 and recorded with mezzo-soprano Karine Deshayes, it is a new incursion into the musical and theatrical universe of the Italian master that he offers us...
After being reunited this winter by the Barber of Seville directed by Laurent Pelly on the stage of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Catherine Trottmann and Florian Sempey will meet again Rosina and Figaro respectively, but in very different settings this time.
Catherine Trottmann will be at the Edinburgh Festival to give back Laurent Pelly's version, after singing Berlioz's Summer Nights with the Normandy Regional Orchestra and before meeting pianist Karolos Zouganelis for a recital at the Imperial Festival in Annecy (all dates and information in the agenda below).
Florian Sempey will be the Figaro of the new production directed by the whimsical Adriano Sinivia, at the Chorégies d'Orange, a production that will close a plethorically Rosinian year for the French baritone, since he already sung it this season at the Opéra de Paris, but also at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Opéra de Marseille and the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg.
