Meeting in Geneva with Francesco Salvadori

for the centenary of the Armistice

This weekend, baritone Francesco Salvadori will be in Geneva for a concert on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First World War Armistice. He will perform the solo baritone part of the oratorio In Terra Pax by F. Martin with the Genève Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Natacha Casagrande.

In Terra Pax is an oratorio composed in 1944, ordered in anticipation of the end of the World War II but whose text is universal, derived from the Bible and carefully compiled by F. Martin himself, can suit for any occasion to celebrate peace.

Born in Siena in 1985, Francesco Salvadori studied at the Conservatory of Florence. He won the 2013 edition of the Spoleto European Competition, then improved his skills at the Placido Domingo Center in Valencia, as well as at the Aix Festival Academy in Provence.

On stage, he is Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte) at the Auditorio de Tenerife and Teatro Del Maggio Fiorentino, the Captain in Manon Lescaut (Puccini) at the Valencia Opera under the direction of Placido Domingo. He sings Belcore (L’Elisir d’Amore) in Piacenza, staged by Leo Nucci and under the baton of Stefano Ranzani, Shaunard in La Bohème at the Verbier Festival and for his debut at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice before embodying Morales (Carmen).

At the Biel Opera, he performs the role of Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale before being invited by the Rome Opera where he sings the role of the Journalist in Lulu by Berg and Bosun in Billy Budd by Britten. Then, he participates in several concerts with Capella Mediterranea directed by Leonardo García Alarcon, at the Aix en Provence Festival.

More recently, he performs the Soldier and the Herald in Verdi's Jerusalem at the Teatro Regio de Parma under the baton of Daniele Callegari and staged by Hugo De Ana, as part of the opening of the Verdi Festival 2017.
