English mezzo-soprano Annabel Kennedy has been a member of the Opernstudio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf since last season. She has already performed on the main stage in the roles of Flora Bervoix (La Traviata), the Second Witch (Dido and Aeneas), and Sandmännchen (Hänsel und Gretel); this season she appears as Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Siegrune (Die Walküre), Nireno (Giulio Cesare), 2nd Knappe (Parsifal), Zweite Magd (Elektra), and Bénoni (La Reine de Saba).

In 2023, she graduated from the International Opera Studio of the Royal College of Music. She has also been part of prestigious programs including as a Glyndebourne Jerwood Artist, Samling Artist, Britten Pears Artist, Opera Prelude Artist and Garsington Alvarez Artist.

She has received numerous awards in vocal competitions, including First Prize at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition, Second Prize in IVC Opera and Oratorio Competition, Second Prize in the Josep Palet International Singing Competition, Press Prize and Junior Jury Prize in the IVC LiedDuo Duo Competition, First Prize at the Lies Askonas Competition, Second Prize at the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards at Wigmore Hall, and First Prize at the Brooks Van Der Pump English Song Competition. She has been a semi finalist at the Queen Sonja Singing Competition and the Wigmore Hall International Singing Competition. 

She performed at the Glyndebourne Festival in the chorus and covered the role of Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream / Britten) in Peter Hall’s celebrated production, at Garsington Festival Opera as Juno (Platée / Rameau) and covered Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro / Mozart), at Wigmore Hall in London as Euterpe (Parnasso in festa / Handel) as part of the London Handel Festival, and as Flora (La Traviata / Verdi) at Nevill Holt Opera.

She has also appeared in concert at Cadogan Hall with the London Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Warren-Green, and in Mahler’s Rückert-Liederwith the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

As part of the Royal College of Music Opera Studio, Annabel Kennedy performed the Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte / Mozart), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel / Humperdinck), Minskwoman (Flight / Jonathan Dove), Public Opinion (Orphée aux Enfers / Offenbach), and the title role in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges by Ravel.

Annabel Kennedy has been represented by RSBA since 2024.
