After completing a triple degree at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse (viola, singing and drama), the Toulouse-born soprano Lisa Chaib-Auriol developed her passion for opera whilst a member of the Maîtrise du Théâtre du Capitole.

This career path has recently led her to sing in New York as part of an exchange programme between the Metropolitan Opera and the Opéra de Paris, as well as to perform at the Opéra Bastille.

Lisa has always stood out for her versatility: from Baroque opera to the contemporary repertoire, including sacred music and musicals.

She appears on television programmes and, in 2024, at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games, broadcast live around the world.

Alongside her musical studies, she also trained in dance and drawing at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts.

Invited to perform in recitals at the Opéra Grand Avignon and the Thalia Theatre in Budapest, as well as in concerts at the Opéra de Massy and the Grand Théâtre d’Albi, she has performed, notably, the roles of Pamina and Papagena (Mozart’s The Magic Flute), Eurydice (Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice), Isis (Antonio Lotti’s Giove in Argo) conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón, Micaëla (Carmen) conducted by Béatrice Uria-Monzon, Suzanne (The Marriage of Figaro) and Sylvia (Haydn’s L’Isola sisabiata).

A member of the Paris Opera Academy between 2023 and 2025, she played the Shepherdess and the Bat in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges at the Palais Garnier, a Novice at the Opéra Bastille alongside Asmik Grigorian in Suor Angelica, conducted by Carlo Rizzi and directed by Christof Loy, as well as Shirley Kaplan in Street Scene, conducted by Yshani Perinpanayagam and directed by Ted Huffman.

This collaboration with the Paris Opera also took her to French Guiana for a concert tour and to the Metropolitan Opera in New York as part of an exchange programme with the Lindemann YAP.

A prize-winner at numerous international competitions – including those organised by the Avignon Opera, the Symphonies d’Automne in Mâcon, Gordes (art song competition) and the Corneille Competition – she was also named ‘Révélation des Escapades Musicales’, succeeding the guitarist Thibaut Garcia, with whom she shared the stage in 2019.

Supported by Maria Godard, the Fondation de France and the Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet pour la Vocation, who recognised her talent and determination at a very early stage, Lisa has also made her mark in the sacred repertoire: as a soloist in Bach’s St Matthew Passion conducted by Jos Van Veldhoven at Notre-Dame de Paris, the St John Passion alongside Cyrille Dubois with the Maîtrise de Toulouse, Poulenc’s Gloria, Fauré’s Requiem at the Église de la Madeleine in Paris and Mozart’s Requiem at Reims Cathedral.

She has also performed in recitals with Julie Depardieu and La Diane Française, conducted by Stéphanie-Marie Degand, at the Pontoise Baroque Festival, as well as a soloist at the Salle Gaveau. Trained at the CNSM, she has honed her art through numerous masterclasses with Véronique Gens, Patricia Petibon, Laurent Naouri, Sandrine Piau and Karine Deshayes.

She is also an artist with the Académie Philippe Jaroussky, with whom she performs, notably at La Seine Musicale.

This season, Lisa reprises the role of Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute for the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse’s touring opera company. She returns to the Studio de l’Opéra Bastille and the Louvre Museum alongside guitarist Thibaut Garcia, performs at the Théâtre du Châtelet as part of Christian Louboutin’s show for Fashion Week, and continues her collaborations with Le Poème Harmonique and the Philippe Jaroussky Academy through various concerts.
