Recognized throughout her career for her interpretations of Mozart, Ravel, and French repertoire in general, Marie Lenormand has in recent years turned toward character and comic roles.

She is a Grammy Award winner for her participation in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges conducted by Seiji Ozawa (Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording 2015), and received the Prix de la Critique “Révélation Musicale 2010” for her performance as Mignon at the Opéra Comique in Paris. Her portrayals of La Périchole and Despina at New York City Opera, and her Fox in La Petite Renarde Rusée by Janáček with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic, were met with enthusiastic acclaim from both audiences and critics.

Her career has been notably shaped by her collaborations with conductors Seiji Ozawa and François-Xavier Roth. She has been a long-standing member of the Favart troupe at the Opéra Comique.

Recent engagements include Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra de Lorraine, the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, and Houston Grand Opera; Dame Marthe (Faust) at the Opéra de Lille and the Opéra Comique; Jacinthe (Le Domino Noir) at the Opéra Comique and the Opéra de Lausanne; and La Reine Popotte (Le Voyage dans la Lune) on tour throughout France.
