Marie Lenormand is a French mezzo-soprano.

A renowned interpreter throughout her career of Mozart, Ravel and the French repertoire in general, in recent years she has turned to character and comic roles.

She won a Grammy Award for her performance of L'Enfant et les sortilèges conducted by Seiji Ozawa (Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording 2015), and also received the Prix de la Critique for 'Musical Revelation 2010' for her interpretation of Mignon at the Opéra Comique in Paris. Her Périchole and Despina at the New York City Opera, and her Renard in Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic, have earned her an enthusiastic reception from audiences and the press alike.

Her career has been particularly marked by her encounters with conductors Seiji Ozawa and François-Xavier Roth. She has been a member of the Opéra Comique's Favart troupe for several years.

Her recent projects include Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Opéra de Lorraine, the Opéra de Saint-Etienne and the Houston Grand Opera; Jacinthe in Le Domino Noir at the Opéra de Lausanne; Queen Popotte in Offenbach's Le Voyage dans la Lune on tour in France; and Kinorama, a programme based on German cinema of the 1930s, with Les Frivolités Parisiennes.

Her projects for the 2023-2024 season: Ursule in Béatrice et Bénédict at Angers-Nantes Opéra and Opéra de Rennes, Frasquinella in La Périchole at Opéra de Tours, L'Ombre d'une femme in Guercoeur at Opéra du Rhin.
