After completing a degree in Modern Literature and studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, he joined the Académie of the Opéra national de Paris, where he notably performed the roles of Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, L’Horloge and Le Chat in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Enée in Didon et Enée, Tarquinius in Le Viol de Lucrèce, as well as numerous recitals.

Outside the Académie of the Opéra de Paris, he sang Schaunard in La Bohème in Bordeaux and the title role in Don Giovanni at the Abbaye de Royaumont, directed by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser. He performed Papageno in La Flûte Enchantée at the “Opera pa Skäret” Festival in Sweden and in Avignon, Guglielmo in Cosí fan tutte in Dijon, Alessio in La Sonnambula at the Opéra de Nice, Argante in Rinaldo at the Opéra d’Avignon, La Haine in Armide by Lully in Dijon and Versailles, and Le Geôlier / L’Officier in Dialogues des Carmélites in Bordeaux and Massy.

He has appeared in recital at the Opéra de Rennes performing Beethoven’s Scottish Songs, and in concert in Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, as well as in a program of French mélodies at the Opéra de Lyon. He sang Orff’s Carmina Burana and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, and Mozart’s Requiem in Versailles. With the Opéra National de Paris, he took part in Gustavo Dudamel’s inaugural concert at the Palais Garnier, where he sang excerpts from Falstaff.

Timothée Varon was named ADAMI Classical Revelation in 2018. At the Opéra national de Paris, he received the AROP and Cercle Carpeaux prizes in 2020. He was part of the 2023 promotion of Génération Opéra and was a resident at the academy of the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2024.

Among his projects for the 2025–2026 season are: reprising the title role in Don Giovanni at the Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris and at the Opéra de Massy, conducted by Julien Chauvin and directed by Jean-Yves Ruf; Masetto / Don Giovanni at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse; and Guglielmo / Cosí fan tutte at the Castel Artès Festival. He will also perform Senna / La Senna Festeggiante by Vivaldi at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Baron Douphol / La Traviata at the Opéra de Rouen, and Count Capulet in a youth-oriented version of Roméo et Juliette at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. In concert, he will reprise the role of La Haine / Armide by Lully in concert version at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Théâtre National du Capitole, and the Philharmonie de Paris. Finally, he will perform Schubert’s Winterreise with pianist Anna Giorgi at the Abbaye du Thoronet.
