Anne Le Bozec
After studying piano, chamber music and accompaniment, winning three 1st prizes at the Paris Conservatoire (in the classes of Theodor Paraskivesco, Anne Grappotte and David Walter), Anne Le Bozec took the Lied Konzertexamen in Karlsruhe in the class of Hartmut Höll. Numerous masterclasses with Leonard Hokanson, Tabea Zimmerman, Gundula Janowitz and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau have provided an opportunity for decisive musical and human encounters. Anne Le Bozec has received grants from the Fondation pour la vocation Bleustein-Blanchet, the Yamaha Music Foundation and the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, and has also won international competitions for soloists (Guérande, 1st Prize), Lied (Hugo Wolf in Stuttgart and Lili Boulanger in Paris, Best Pianist Prize), and Flute-Piano Duo (Schubert und die Moderne in Graz, 2nd Prize).
Her chamber music partners include singers Marc Mauillon, SunHae Im, Isabelle Druet, Sabine Devieilhe, Amel Brahim-Djelloul, Konstantin Wolff, Christian Immler, Philippe Huttenlocher, Didier Henry, cellist Alain Meunier, flutist Sandrine Tilly and violinist Olivia Hughes; She has also played with Karen Vourc'h, Roland Hermann, Emmanuelle Bertrand, Christian Ivaldi, the Ardeo and Parisii quartets, and the Moraguès quintet. She has performed in the most intimate concert halls, as well as at major music venues such as the Salle Pleyel, the Cité de la Musique, the Orangerie de Sceaux, the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the Opéra Bastille, the Musée d'Orsay, the Associazione Scarlatti Napoli and the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Schwetzinger Festspiele, the Sommets musicaux de Gstaad, the Musikverein Wien, the Hamburg, Cologne and Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestras, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Palau de la musica in Barcelona and Valencia, the Kumho Art Hall, the Seoul Art Center and Tokyo's Epta Hall.
Working with the body is an essential part of her artistic approach: she has worked under the direction of director Catherine Dune on Ravel's unexpected Enfant et les sortilèges, and with choreographer Hans-Werner Klohe on his Hugo Wolf Projekt.
Many of her recordings devoted to the Lied repertoire (Schubert, Mahler, Szymanowski, Wolf, Duparc, Brahms) have received enthusiastic reviews: his Wanderer with baritone Christoph Sökler was awarded the Orphée d'or du disque lyrique, and his recent complete works of Chopin songs with soprano Urszula Cuvellier is already considered a benchmark. A complete set of Beethoven sonatas for cello and piano with Alain Meunier was released in September 2013. In 2014, two recordings dedicated to the Musicians of the Great War were released on the Hortus label, in duo with Marc Mauillon and Alain Meunier, to rave reviews from the international press. A third is planned for 2015-16.
Anne Le Bozec teaches vocal accompaniment at the Paris Conservatoire. For five years she directed the only German class in French mélodie at the Karlsruhe Hochschule. She teaches master classes all over the world.
