Alondra de la Parra was here the absolute incarnation of excessive rhythm, racy, elegant and energetic

The energy, communicative charisma, commitment, and artistic qualities of Alondra de la Parra make her an internationally sought-after artist.

The very first woman appointed music director of an Australian orchestra, in 2017, she led the Queensland Symphony Orchestra until 2019.

From 2022 to 2024, she was principal guest conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, and in 2024 she became chief conductor and artistic director of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid.

This season, in addition to concerts conducted as part of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid’s season, she appears as guest conductor with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, the DR Symfoniorkestret, the Duisburger Philharmoniker, the Beethovenorchester Bonn, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg.

She has already conducted many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras: the Orchestre de Paris, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra Manchester, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, the Münchner Symphoniker, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the DR Symfoniorkestret, the Camerata Salzburg, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai Torino, the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo.

Recent engagements include conducting Turandot at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the world premiere of Joby Talbot’s ballet Like Water for Chocolate at the Royal Opera House in London and later at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the complete Brahms symphonies with the Münchner Symphoniker.

Alondra de la Parra regularly appears in the musical format Musica Maestra, having recorded over 60 episodes to date. Since July 2017, Germany’s Deutsche Welle has broadcast a series of web videos and television programs in which the conductor appears as both protagonist and reporter. Over the past three seasons, she has interviewed guests such as John Malkovich, Jan Lisiecki, Gautier Capuçon, and Zenaida Yanowsky.

In 2022, she created the first edition of the PAAX GNP festival in Mexico, welcoming artists such as Julian Prégardien, Guy Braunstein, Nemanja Radulovic, Pacho Flores, and Aleksey Igudesman.

She also co-created The Silence of Sound, a multidisciplinary show—featuring a philharmonic orchestra, a clown-like actress, and a video installation—designed for audiences of all ages and presented for the first time on tour in Mexico and Spain during the 2022–2023 season.

Alondra de la Parra has been represented by RSBA since 2024.
