The energy, communicative charisma, commitment, and artistic qualities of Alondra de la Parra make her an internationally sought-after artist.
The first woman ever appointed Music Director of an Australian orchestra, she served as Music Director of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra from 2017 to 2019.
From 2022 to 2024, she was Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, and in 2024 became Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid.
This season, in addition to concerts within the season of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid, she appears as a guest conductor with the Orchestre de l’Opéra national de Paris (the ballet Joyaux), the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the Brucknerorchester Linz, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife.
She has already conducted many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras: the Orchestre de Paris, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra Manchester, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, the Münchner Symphoniker, the Duisburger Philharmoniker, the Beethovenorchester Bonn, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the DR Symfoniorkestret, the Camerata Salzburg, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai Torino, the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo.
Among her recent engagements are Turandot at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the world premiere of Joby Talbot’s ballet Like Water for Chocolate at the Royal Opera House in London and subsequently at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as a complete cycle of the Brahms symphonies with the Münchner Symphoniker.
Alondra de la Parra regularly appears in the musical format Musica Maestra, having recorded more than 60 episodes to date. Since July 2017, Deutsche Welle has broadcast a series of web videos and television programmes in which the conductor appears as both presenter and reporter. She has interviewed guests such as John Malkovich, Jan Lisiecki, Gautier Capuçon, and Zenaida Yanowsky.
In 2022, she created the first edition of the PAAX GNP Festival in Mexico, welcoming artists such as Julian Prégardien, Guy Braunstein, Nemanja Radulovic, Pacho Flores, and Aleksey Igudesman.
She also co-created The Silence of Sound, a multidisciplinary production featuring a symphony orchestra, a clown actress, and a video installation, designed for audiences of all ages and first presented on tour in Mexico and Spain during the 2022–2023 season.
Alondra de la Parra has been represented by RSBA since 2024.
