François d'Arjac
Bass-baritones
Young French bass-baritone François d’Arjac, aged 26, is a member of the Génération Opéra 2027–2028 cohort.
From September 2026, he will pursue his Master’s studies at the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam, following the successful completion of his DNSPM de chant at the CNSMD de Lyon, where he studied with Sophie Marin-Degor and Hélène Lucas.
Having trained at the CRR de Paris (2018–2023) before joining the CNSMD de Lyon, he has appeared in various productions and stage projects at both institutions, including Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), La Petite Renarde rusée (Janáček), Golaud in Pelléas et Mélisande (Debussy), Docteur Malatesta in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), Don Iñigo Gomez in L’Heure espagnole (Ravel), and Le Gendarme in Les Mamelles de Tirésias (Poulenc), performed under the direction of Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier at the CNSMD de Lyon.
He also performed the role of Escamillo in Carmen as part of an academic production at the Opéra de Vichy.
Particularly drawn to the oratorio repertoire, François d’Arjac has already appeared in Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Haendel’s Le Messie, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, and Bach’s Passions.
He has participated in masterclasses with artists including Anne Le Bozec, Christian Immler, Étienne Dupuis, Nicolas Courjal, and Alexandre Dratwicki, further enriching his stylistic and theatrical development.
François d’Arjac has been represented by RSBA since 2026.
