Conductor specializing in opera and vocal work, Guillemette DABOVAL has a particular attachment to French music, which she explores through a wide repertoire.

Her presence at the Opéra-Comique as part of the Académie Favart led her to work closely with Louis Langrée on the flagship production of L’Heure Espagnole (Ravel) and Pulcinella (Stravinsky) in a staging by Guillaume Gallienne, as well as Le Domino Noir (Auber) directed by Valérie Lesort and Christian Hecq, and with Laurent Campellone on Fantasio (Offenbach) by Thomas Jolly.

Alongside her work at the Opéra-Comique, she collaborates with major figures such as Barbara Hannigan, Débora Waldman, Hervé Niquet, Laurence Equilbey, and various opera houses including: Opéra Royal de Versailles, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra de Dijon, Opéra de Rouen, Opéra de Tours, and Opéra de Toulon.

Since 2021, she has worked regularly with the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées and the TAP de Poitiers on the project Chœur et Orchestre des Jeunes.

In 2022, she conducted Carmen by Bizet with the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, before joining the Berlin Opernfest as assistant conductor on Die Fledermaus by Strauss.

Since that same year, she has been regularly invited by the Chœur de Radio France, notably for the world premiere of Dream Requiem by Rufus Wainwright.

Guillemette DABOVAL is recognized for her musical and artistic direction, notably as founder of the ensemble Esquisses, with which she recorded Par un matin in 2023, an album praised by critics, and the Cie Datura, with which she conducted Lakmé in a staging by Mathilde Bellin.

She is a graduate of the CNSMD de Lyon, where she studied conducting in Lionel Sow’s class. There, she met influential figures such as Julien Masmondet, Enrique Mazzola, and Raphaël Pichon, who have shaped her artistic journey.

Considering work with amateur ensembles as an important part of her musical mission, she is also musical director of Cantrel de Lyon and the ensemble 6/5 barré.

She has been represented by the RSBA agency since 2023.
